ALABAMA INSTITUTE FOR DEAF AND BLIND

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind has been helping those who are deaf and/or have a visual impairment since 1858. AIDB has 8 different regional centers, located across Alabama and covering all 67 counties. Whether you are a parent with a child recently diagnosed with a hearing or vision loss, a deaf adult or business person needing an interpreter, a blind adult in need of assistive technology, or a senior coping with age-related hearing or vision loss, AIDB can help you find the resources you need.  AIDB offers a unique mixture of services, developed according to the needs of the communities we serve.

One of the programs offered in AIDB is the kinder-prep program, which helps pre-school students ages three to five adapt to their impairments. Hear more about the program and how it changes lives in the video below.

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind helps people all over the state that are dealing with vision or hearing loss. They offer 5 different programs: 1. Alabama School for the Deaf, 2. Alabama School for the Blind, 3. E.H. Gentry Technical Facility, 4. Helen Keller School, and 5. Alabama Industries for the Blind.
